A panel only performs as well as the wall around it: get the H-section posts, wind-load foundations and height right, and avoid the few mistakes that quietly cost you decibels.
Mount panels on H-section steel posts at 2.0–4.0 m spacing, set into cast-in-place concrete foundations sized from the local wind zone and soil. Height follows the line-of-sight principle — each extra metre near source or receiver adds roughly 1.5 dB, but gains fade above 4–5 m, so mass and absorption often beat building taller. Seal the base, keep posts plumb, and never undersize the foundation.
Panel rating is necessary; the supporting system is what delivers it.
A noise barrier is a system, not a sheet. The acoustic panel sets the ceiling on performance; the posts, foundations and height determine how much of that ceiling you actually realise on site. Zhaobang Metal supplies the panels, H-section posts and accessories with shop drawings — installation and foundations are carried out by the local contractor or EPC using those drawings.
The three decisions that matter most are: (1) post type and spacing, (2) foundation sizing from wind load and soil, and (3) height relative to the source–receiver line of sight. Get these right and a correctly specified panel will deliver close to its rated performance.

Shorter spans and deeper foundations suit taller walls and high wind zones; longer spans reduce post count where loads allow. The spacing and foundation must be confirmed by structural design, not estimated in the field.
Why taller is not automatically better.
The barrier must break the direct line of sight between the noise source and the receiver — that is the line-of-sight principle, and it is what insertion loss depends on. As a rule of thumb, each extra metre of height close to the source or receiver adds roughly 1.5 dB of attenuation. But the curve flattens: above about 4–5 m, adding height buys less and less, while the wind-load and foundation demands grow sharply.
That is why a smarter path is often to keep height at the line-of-sight minimum and instead increase panel mass and add an absorptive face. Our panels are modular from 1.0 m to 6.0 m, and the final height should follow the project's acoustic design report rather than a guess. Site noise reduction can reach up to 35 dB when the whole system — height, mass, absorption and sealing — is specified together.

The most common errors are gaps at the base and ends, posts set out of plumb, and foundations undersized for the wind zone. A gap under the barrier lets sound leak through at ground level and can destroy several decibels of hard-won attenuation; misaligned posts make panels bind and reflect. Verify the base seal, post plumbness and foundation depth against the drawings before panels are hung.
